Man believed to have been shot in face in South Seattle

A man appeared to have been shot in the face in Seattle, and police have yet to identify a suspect.

Officers are investigating after a 40-year-old man is believed to have been shot in South Seattle Wednesday night, the Seattle Police Department (SPD) reported.

Police responded to reports of a shooting near South Winthrop Street and Cheasty Boulevard South in North Beacon Hill.

Officers found a man with significant injuries to his head and face from a suspected gunshot wound.

“This is a suspected shooting,” SPD Detective Eric Munoz said. “We do need those medical professionals to look at those injuries and determine exactly what happened.”

Man transported to Harborview after South Seattle shooting

Seattle Fire Department personnel arrived, provided medical treatment, and transported the man to Harborview Medical Center.

Meanwhile, patrol officers assessed the scene, took photographs, and recovered evidence indicative of a shooting.

There is no known suspect at this time.
