Puyallup Police Department (PPD) detectives are investigating whether a body pulled from a lake Tuesday is that of a missing person.

Detectives are trying to determine if the woman’s body, found at Bradley Lake Park, is related to a Pierce County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) missing-persons case from a week ago, PPD reported Wednesday.

PPD hasn’t given any details about the missing-person’s case, but on Jan. 22, PCSO reported 60-year-old Ginger Meier had been missing since Jan. 11.

Her vehicle was last located in the area of Bradley Lake Park.

Puyallup officers respond to Bradley Lake Park

On Tuesday, PPD reported, via X, that officers responded to Bradley Lake Park for a death investigation.

When police got there, witnesses pointed to what appeared to be a small portion of a body floating in the north end of the lake, around 25 feet from the bank.

Central Pierce Fire and Rescue crews then pulled a woman’s body from the lake.

Authorities said the woman’s body may have been there for a while, according to KIRO 7.

The Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office is currently inspecting the body.

Bradley Lake Park was temporarily closed, but has since reopened.

Authorities noted there is no danger to the public.
