DUI suspect bites Tukwila officer during arrest after wrong-way chase

A male suspect bit a Tukwila Police Department (TPD) officer while he was being arrested for DUI on Tuesday night.

TPD officer Desmul observed a driver traveling northbound on Tukwila International Boulevard at a high rate of speed in the southbound lanes, TPD announced.

After a lengthy chase, the officer eventually caught up to the vehicle in the 9400 block of E. Marginal Way S., where a traffic stop was made.

Tukwila suspect resists DUI arrest, bites officer

When officers attempted to detain the male driver, he resisted the arrest and physically struggled with officers.

During the struggle, the suspect allegedly bit an officer in the forearm and caused injury.

TPD noted that the suspect was booked into jail for DUI and assaulting an officer.
