One person died after a three-car collision near the Tacoma Narrows Bridge on Wednesday evening.

At approximately 3:40 p.m., the crash was reported on SR 302 near SR 16 in Gig Harbor, according to KIRO 7.

A section of SR 302 was closed in both directions for several hours near Burnham Drive.

Washington State Patrol (WSP) noted that one person was killed in the crash and two others were transported to a local hospital.

WSP troopers said that the crash was caused by an apparent failure to yield to oncoming traffic. The driver causing the collision failed to yield when making a left turn, WSP told KIRO 7.
