Human remains found earlier this month in Concrete have been identified as a woman who had been missing since February.

The Skagit County coroner confirmed that the body recovered in March belonged to 37‑year‑old Krista Hunt, according to KIRO 7.

Hunt was reported missing on Feb. 1. Officials did not immediately release details on how her remains were found.

Investigators have not yet disclosed the cause or manner of her death. The Skagit County Sheriff’s Office and coroner’s office are continuing their investigation.

KIRO 7 reports that in a GoFundMe from when she was reported missing, her mother wrote:

“Two weeks before she disappeared, the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office brought Krista from Concrete to the Mount Vernon train station, where I picked her up. The next day, I took her to the hospital—she was covered in bruises, both new and old, had been strangled, had two black eyes, and a broken leg. Doctors warned that if she was strangled again, she might not survive.”

Authorities have asked anyone with information about Hunt’s disappearance and death to contact local law enforcement.

No arrests have been announced in connection with the case. Investigators have said they will release more information as it becomes available.
