The Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office announced it will soon add a new K-9 patrol dog, marking the return of the agency’s program for the first time in years.

The sheriff’s office said the addition comes after months of planning and strong support from the community, whose contributions made the program possible.

In the coming weeks, officials plan to introduce the dog and its partner.

The agency also said it will recognize the many community members who helped fund and support the effort to bring the K-9 unit back.
