A multi-story residential building in Seattle’s Interbay neighborhood caught fire early Wednesday morning.

At 6:39 a.m., Seattle Fire Department (SFD) firefighters were on the scene in the 2000 block of 14th Avenue W., SFD announced.

Interbay building evacuated, no injuries reported

Minutes later, crews began putting water on the fire, and a primary search of the building indicated it was all clear. No injuries were reported.

The fire extended into the void spaces between the first and second floors of the building. At the time, SFD was working to gain access to the fire.

At 7:14 a.m., SFD noted the fire was under control and crews continued to work on overhaul, removing smoldering debris and extinguishing hot spots.

The fire was eventually completely extinguished at 7:31 a.m. A unit remained on scene throughout the morning to monitor for flare-ups.

The incident is currently under investigation.
