Bellingham woman arrested after taking ‘substantial steps’ to kill two people during Saturday confrontation

A Bellingham woman was arrested after police claimed she took “substantial steps” to kill two people during a violent confrontation on Saturday.
Officers with the Bellingham Police Department arrived at the 2300 block of Lisa Lane at approximately 4:30 p.m. Saturday to find that one victim had been cut with a knife, according to The Bellingham Herald.
Police determined the suspect attempted to strangle both victims. The second victim managed to escape and called 911.
The victims were hospitalized at St. Joseph Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The 43-year-old suspect was arrested at the scene after being treated for self-inflicted injuries.
She’s being held without bail on suspicion of two counts of attempted first-degree murder at the Whatcom County Jail.
