The Seattle Police Department’s (SPD) SWAT team made an arrest on Tuesday morning after a suspect barricaded himself in South Seattle.

At approximately 9:30 a.m., the arrest was made in the 6100 block of 4th Avenue S. after a six-hour-long standoff, SPD announced.

According to KIRO Newsradio, two neighbors got into an argument at around 2 a.m., which led to a stabbing. The suspect then barricaded himself inside a home.

“They are neighbors. They got in a dispute earlier this morning. It turned into a fight disturbance, and ultimately the suspect pulled out a knife and obviously injured the victim,” Muñoz said.

The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center in satisfactory condition. The suspect was booked into the King County Jail for felony assault.

SPD advised to avoid the area and expect traffic delays near 4th Avenue S. and S. Michigan Street.
