A 12-year-old girl required help from firefighters to get down from a tree after climbing too high.

The girl had climbed roughly 20 feet up into a tree and couldn’t get back down. Crews with South County Fire were called to the Maplewood Cooperative School in Edmonds just after 5 p.m. Monday to rescue the child. South County Fire posted the rescue on Facebook.

Firefighters from Ladder 14 and Engine 16 extended their ladder and brought her safely to the ground.

She was shaken up, but not hurt.

“While she was understandably a little shaken up, we are happy to report she was not injured,” South County Fire stated. “And she received a ride home in the fire engine.”
