One skydiver dead, another injured after midair collision in Adams County

One skydiver died in a midair collision Sunday evening in Adams County, the local sheriff’s office confirmed.
A second skydiver was injured in the collision.
Emergency crews were called to the 2000 block of E. Schoessler Road at approximately 5:30 p.m. Sunday after receiving a report that two skydivers had collided in the air and were in need of medical attention.
“On scene, deputies learned of a midair collision resulting in one of the skydivers becoming deceased and the second sustaining injuries requiring additional treatment at a medical facility,” the Adams County Sheriff’s Office stated.
The person who died was released to the Adams County Coroner’s Office.
The Adams County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating the incident.
