Families can prepare for the upcoming school year by taking advantage of two free immunization clinics offered by Thurston County Public Health & Social Services.
ThurstonTalk reported that the walk-in clinics will be held Aug. 19-20, with no appointment or registration required. The clinics are open to children ages 4-18 and will provide the vaccinations required for school attendance, along with age-appropriate recommended immunizations.
The first clinic will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Aug. 19 at the Thurston County Resource Hub. The second clinic is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Aug. 20 at ROOF Community Services in Rochester.
The clinics will offer vaccines for diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, hepatitis B, polio, measles, mumps, rubella, and chickenpox. Recommended vaccines, including HPV and meningococcal immunizations, will also be available as appropriate.
Families are encouraged to bring their children’s immunization records, especially if they have recently moved to Washington. Records of vaccinations previously administered in the state can also be accessed through Washington’s immunization system.
