Jimothy the Raccoon — Seattle’s “newest local icon” — will soon be honored with an official City Proclamation in Ballard.

City Councilmember Alexis Mercedes Rinck announced on social media that you have the chance to “celebrate the majestic Jimothy” on Sunday, July 26.

“Bring your Jimothy-inspired artwork to the neighborhood they were first spotted – Ballard,” the post said. “We invite all local artists to bring their Jimothy-themed art for a friendly art competition.”

The Jimothy the Raccoon celebration begins at 12 p.m. at Bergen Place Park, located near the Ballard Farmer’s Market.
