Urban X Scavenger Hunt Returns to Downtown Seattle for a Morning of Team Adventure

Get ready to explore Seattle in a whole new way! On Sunday, September 13, 2026, teams of friends, family members, and coworkers will take to the streets for Urban X: Seattle’s Great Scavenger Hunt, an interactive sports-themed adventure through downtown Seattle.
Hosted by the Seattle Sports Commission, Urban X combines teamwork, strategy, and exploration as teams of four compete to earn points by locating checkpoints, solving challenges, and completing creative photo and video tasks at iconic Seattle landmarks. Participants will use a smartphone-guided app to navigate the course and climb the leaderboard, with the chance to win a $1,000 cash prize.
The event begins with check-in at 9:00 a.m. at The Hall on Occidental, followed by a 9:30 a.m. start at the Lumen Field North Stairs. Teams will then chart their own path through downtown Seattle, deciding which checkpoints to visit and challenges to complete before racing back to The Hall on Occidental for the finish.
The adventure concludes at 11:30 a.m. with a finish-line celebration featuring awards, team photos, and prizes. Participants are encouraged to show their team spirit by wearing sports-themed outfits or costumes, with special recognition awarded for Best Team Costume.
“With first a Super Bowl Championship Parade and then hosting FIFA World Cup matches, this has been an historic year for visitors and locals alike to experience our vibrant downtown,” said Seattle Sports Commission CEO Beth Knox. “The Urban X scavenger hunt is a perfect way to keep our sidewalks busy with activity as co-workers, family, and friends sign up for a little adventure and friendly competition!”
