Starbucks’ new Snoopy cups revamp viral bear cup chaos

Starbucks has released another glass cup that has customers in a frenzy.
The coffee giant came out with a Peanuts collection for fall, complete with a glass Snoopy cup for cold drinks. The cup is Snoopy-shaped, with an orange hat, green scarf, and green and white striped straw, with a Woodstock straw topper.
“Connection is huge across the Peanuts brand, it just invokes such a sense of nostalgia,” Christine Grennan, who led the collaboration for Starbucks, stated in a company post. “And I think the same is true with Pumpkin Spice Latte, remembering that first sip of PSL with friends. All of those feelings are very naturally intertwined with Peanuts.”
Customers across the country lined up in the early morning of Sept. 15 when the collection launched at select coffeehouses, with some arriving before 3:30 a.m., USA Today reported.
On Monday, a video was posted of a Starbucks customer reaching across the counter and appearing to grab the Snoopy cup out of the barista’s hands. Dubsea posted the video on Instagram, saying the encounter occurred in Seattle, but that has not been verified. MyNorthwest has reached out to Starbucks.
“I’m a customer, I paid,” the woman is heard saying in the video.

Snoopy cups selling for less than Bearista mugs — for now
Last holiday season, Starbucks launched Bearista mugs, which were selling for more than triple the original price on eBay. The company even brought them back for summer with a new design.
Snoopy cups are selling on eBay for much less than the Bearista mugs, currently around $20 to $50, but prices could go up.
Beyond the glass Snoopy cups, the Starbucks + Peanuts collection includes drinkware like a ceramic mug featuring the Peanuts crew, a peach Snoopy thermos, a white thermos, and two different cups for cold drinks. The line also features accessories including a Snoopy and Woodstock tote bag, a Snoopy bag charm, a Snoopy plush, and enamel pins.

The merchandise is available in-store while supplies last. However, Starbucks Rewards members in the U.S. can purchase more exclusive merchandise on Starbucks Shop.
