Arlington police seize pellet gun at middle school

Arlington police seized a replica pellet gun from Haller Middle School after reports that a student brought a gun to campus.
Deputies recovered the gun off school property, the Arlington Police Department (APD) stated Thursday night.
APD forwarded recommended felony and misdemeanor charges related to the incident to the Snohomish County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office’s juvenile division for review.
“The Arlington Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division worked around the clock to locate and recover the item,” authorities wrote.
Arlington police began the investigation Thursday afternoon after a report that a student may have had a gun at the middle school.
“As part of the investigation, community members may see officers and K-9 units conducting an investigative search for evidence related to the report in and around the area,” the police department wrote.
APD thanked Haller Middle School and Arlington Public Schools for their cooperation, along with parents and students.
“Their prompt reporting was critical to the response,” authorities stated.
The police department urged the community to continue reporting suspicious activity.
