This weekend’s weather will be about as good as it gets for early October.
High pressure aloft is forecast to build over the Pacific Northwest, providing clearing skies and warmer temperatures. Low-level winds will also turn offshore from the interior toward the Pacific Ocean.
Highs across much of western Washington are expected to range from the upper 60s into the 70s. Average high temperatures are in the mid-60s for this time of year.
Lows will be rather cool, mainly in the 40s. Brief morning fog or low clouds are likely, mainly in river valleys and near Puget Sound and the coast.
The dry weather is forecast to continue well into next week as higher pressure aloft is expected to hold. Low-level winds are anticipated to shift back to onshore from the Pacific, which will cool high temperatures back close to early October averages.
Looking further ahead, the 8- to 14-day outlook that extends to the following weekend maintains warmer-than-average temperatures with only a limited threat of rainfall.
This early October weather offers a great opportunity to enjoy all kinds of outdoor activities such as enjoying the emerging fall tree colors, Friday night lights high school football, weekend soccer or football games, and that trip to the pumpkin patch.
