Man killed in Marysville house fire; multiple pets unaccounted for

One person has died, and several family pets are still unaccounted for following a fire in Marysville on Thursday.

Crews responded to calls for a fire at a home on Parkside Drive around 1:30 a.m. When they arrived, they found the home fully engulfed in flames.

According to the Marysville Fire Department, the home was occupied by a husband and wife and several pets, including dogs, cats, and birds.



The woman was able to safely get out of the home with no injuries, but the man was found dead inside the home when crews arrived.

A number of pets are missing.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The house was a total loss, the Marysville Fire Department said. It’s estimated the damage was about $500,000.
