A Columbia City taqueria, Taco City Taqueria, has been burglarized three nights in a row and “completely cleaned out” this week. Now the owners have warned neighboring businesses to take precautions against the thieves.
Taco City posted a collection of photos of the burglar on Monday, screenshotted from security camera footage picturing the inside of the business.
The suspect appeared to have been grabbing products off of the shelves and placing them into either a bag or recycling can.
It is unclear whether there is more than one suspect breaking into Taco City. The photos picture a person in a white T-shirt and a light- and dark-colored hooded sweatshirt.
Anyone who may recognize the person in the photos or has information about the break-ins was asked to contact the Seattle Police Department. The company also warned not to approach or confront the suspect.
“As small business owners, we’re already working hard to keep our doors open,” Taco City wrote. “Replacing stolen inventory, repairing damage, and paying for additional security are expenses none of us can afford, especially over and over again! Let’s keep an eye out for one another and help protect our Columbia City community.”
Taco City is located at 5212 Rainier Avenue S. The taqueria advised nearby businesses to check their doors, windows, alarms, and security cameras to limit any burglar’s access.
