Russell Wilson gives away his new Nike’s during Seattle Children’s Hospital visit

Nov 16, 2016, 10:36 AM

Russell Wilson is no stranger to giving or lifting spirits at Seattle Children’s Hospital. He mixed those passions Tuesday by giving away a “special gift”: Pairs of his new line of Nike sneakers.

Nike, which signed the Seahawks quarterback to a long-term endorsement deal in January, released the Nike Flex show TR 5 RW kids’ shoes on Wednesday. Wilson’s fans at the hospital got the first batch.

First came Hailie, a week after her heart transplant.

Superfan Avery.

And future TV star Mason.

Wilson visits the Hospital every Tuesday and broadcasts his interactions with kids on Facebook Live. Wilson donated more than $1 million to the hospital and its Strong Against Cancer initiative through his Why Not You Foundation in August. He’s also hoping to give back to the city as a whole — announcing Monday that he’s partnering with the Sonics Arena Group to help bring the NBA back to Seattle.
