Areas east of I-5 could see flurries of snow overnight into the early hours of Saturday morning, according to forecasters.

While locations like Enumclaw, North Bend, Snoqualmie Falls, and Maple Valley have seen “impressive” accumulation totals, the National Weather Service reports warm air will spread to most areas excepts parts of the Fraser Valley east of Bellingham.

Forecasters say a showery pattern will continue on Saturday and Sunday night across the region with temperatures near but below average for mid-December.

The NWS says “things will get interesting” again Sunday night through Tuesday. It’s too early to tell with certainty, but it looks like there could be a short period of snow across Western Washington on Monday as an arctic front moves over the region.
