Is the mask coming off on those in power in the E.U.?

A headline in the New York Times last week said that the Berlin attack poses the toughest challenge 11-year run of German Chancellor Angela Merkel. The narrative of the headline says that this is a tough test for the German Chancellor.

How about the test for the families of those killed? Or the test for the law enforcement people who knew that the killer was in the country and being monitored but, because of the way Merkel has set things up in Germany, authorities weren’t allowed to do much. Do you think it was a tough time for them as well?

The Times also commented on the right wing populism that is on the rise in Germany and said that the EU could be fatally wounded if Merkel loses power. 

Now, there is no doubt that populism is on the rise. It’s happening all over the world; left wing populism as well. 

Europe is desperate right now. People aren’t reproducing, so the governments are saying, “We can’t have a manufacturing base, we can’t have a tax base; we’re not rulers unless we have someone to rule, let’s open the doors to people.”

And people, who aren’t ideological, are saying to their leaders in Europe, “You guys are nuts.” It seems the mask is coming off on those in power in the European Union.

Did right wing populism come out of the void or is the mask coming off on the left?
