Man arrested in violent summer attack at Marymoor Park

A man has been arrested in a violent attack on a woman at Redmond’s Marymoor Park last summer.
King County Sheriff’s Office detectives said a DNA match led to the identification of the suspect.
The Aug. 5 attack happened as the victim was walking her dog on a trail. Police said a man came out of some bushes, grabbed the woman and pulled her back into the wooded area.
The attacker then punched the woman repeatedly as she fought back and screamed. According to investigators, he told the woman he was going to kill her.
The attacker fled when a man walking nearby heard the victim screaming for help and went to investigate.
The woman had severe injuries to her face and a broken arm.
Police said they believed the attack was sexually motivated.
The King County Prosecutor’s Office requested that no further information be released while the investigation continues.
