King County’s housing market is still going full-steam ahead, but new numbers show a slight hitch in its gait.

January prices represented the slowest growth in a year-and-a-half.

The Seattle Times reports that, according to realtors, home prices usually slump a bit in the winter months, which might account for the slowdown.

The median price of a house in King County went up 6.9 percent compared to last January, the Times reports. It was particularly slow in Seattle where the growth was 2.7 percent, which is the lowest rate in nearly three years.

Realtors point out that prices here are still rising faster than anywhere else in the nation.
