Forecasters say the chance of snow for the Puget Sound lowlands will diminish into Tuesday morning, but maybe not before the commute.
“Expect any showers on the lowlands to fall as snow or a rain/snow mix,” according to the National Weather Service in Seattle.
Forecasters say more precipitation will roll in over the Cascades on Tuesday. There’s a possibility of heavy snow, especially on slopes facing west.
On Monday evening, the Washington State Department of Transportation warned drivers that both directions of I-90 over Snoqualmie Pass were closed due to multiple collisions and spin outs.
Eastbound lanes reopened before 11 p.m. and westbound lanes reopened at 11 p.m.
