A major repaving project is set to start Tuesday morning in Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood.

Seattle Department of Transportation crews will be working on Third Avenue from Virginia to Broad streets, where there is a major pothole problem, for 10 months.
On Tuesday, traffic in both directions of Third will be cut down to a single curb lane in each direction through some active construction zones.
SDOT says drivers should expect construction to happen on some weekends and that there will be days when some intersections will be closed.
SDOT blames the potholes on the recent tough winter freezing and cracking pavement along with everyday wear and tear.
Drivers will have to deal with the construction until at least February of next year.
