Bob Costas’ eye infection spreads to both eyes

Feb 11, 2014, 9:52 AM | Updated: 10:21 am

The much tweeted about eye infection impacting NBC’s Bob Costas, who happens to be leading NBC’s coverage of the Olympics in Sochi, has spread to both eyes.

Costas called into the Today Show Tuesday morning and told Today’s Matt Lauer he’s calling him in to sub.

On the first night of Olympic coverage, Costas opened the broadcast explaining that he had to wear glasses because he had an infection. His left eye was visibly inflamed.

As of Tuesday, both eyes are inflamed, and a vodka shot Monday night apparently didn’t help. Costas says he might as well be playing Marco Polo with both his eyes infected now.
