No surprise: Seattle drivers among the worst in the US

A new study from Allstate Insurance Company reports Seattle, Tacoma, and Bellevue are among the worst drivers in the U.S.

The study ranks drivers in US cities from one to 193 and Seattle came in at #147. Bellevue and Tacoma did slighly better with 145 and 141.

Rankings were based on the number of accident claims. the study says on average, drivers in Seattle, Bellevue, and Tacoma will get into an accident every eight years.

It could be worse. We could live in Washington D.C. where the average driver gets into an accident once every 4-5 years. The safest drivers live in Fort Collins, Colorado.

So why are so many local drivers so lame? Dori says two reasons: one of them is we’re too passive aggressive, left lane drivers. He can’t say the second without making people around here really mad:

But it turns out we aren’t the only ones with left lane campers. There’s even a national, grassroots organization called Left Lane Drivers of America whose sole purpose is to get slowpokes out of the left lane.

They even sell a sticker you can put on your windshield that encourages left lane campers to move over:
