Last week I received the best email I have ever received in my entire career:

Hi Rachel,

My name is Savannah, and I work with Darigold here in Seattle. We heard that you enjoy sour cream, and we would like to send some your way. I look forward to hearing back from you.

Kindest Regards,

Savannah

Readers, this is not any kind of promotional stunt. It’s just that I happen to have a love affair with the greatest condiment on earth, sour cream. So when a giant Styrofoam cooler, full of the white gold, arrived at my desk yesterday afternoon, I thought I might convulse from happiness. But now, what to do with my supply before it goes bad? Even for a sour cream enthusiast, that’s an awful lot of loot.

Today I started with a dip: One container of sour cream mixed with this delicious chipotle honey hot sauce, purchased at the Ballard Farmer’s Market. Ridged chips. Yum. I am also a fan of producer Libby’s dessert suggestion: dipping strawberries in sour cream and then brown sugar and, of course, I like it straight, on a spoon, with a little Tapatio.

Please share your favorite sour cream recipes here!
