Michael Medved picks underdog to shine in Democratic debate

Michael Medved’s standout candidate in the Democratic debate may surprise some folks.
“Most people have no idea who he is,” Medved told AM 770 KTTH’s David Boze.
Medved is referring to former Virginia Senator Jim Webb. Though Webb has stayed relatively quiet compared to the competition, Medved believes he will tackle the debate like a job interview. He will boast that he is a former Republican, instead of shying away from the fact.
Webb has a strong background in the military, which includes time in the Marines and working in the Secretary of the Navy’s office.
Webb is “truly a war hero,” Medved explained.
But who will Webb be talking to while he’s up on stage?
The answer: People randomly tuning into the debate who believed they were bored of the Democratic party. They’ll think “wow, this is more of an interesting party than I thought,” Medved said.
Basically, Medved’s standout is a politician who might appeal to people who are not politically active, at least with the Democratic party, Boze said.
The first Democratic presidential debate is Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
