Who knew a clock could cause so much angst?
The Washington State Department of Transportation is trying to figure out ways to lure people over to the new Amtrak station that’s being built in Tacoma. Apparently a new Amtrak station doesn’t do that.
Weird.

What’s something that will attract more people? Not a baseball field, but a clock. And not just any clock. A giant one and an ugly one that no one seems to want.
Why does it need to be so big? It’s between 80 and 90 feet and it’s legitimately ugly.
What is it about a clock that leads them to believe that people will show up? I think people will show up if it’s a service that actually gets people to places. It will be a draw if it’s a service that people will use.
It’s a new Amtrak station and I have to assume it connects to another Amtrak station somewhere. If it connects to places that people actually want to go, that’s good. That’s what will get me to go to that individual Amtrak station.
