Hypocritical Left unphased at violent threats against Trump

We’re told, rather frequently, that President Donald Trump’s rhetoric is violent and must be stopped. Yet when the same commentary comes from Vice President Joe Biden, the Twittersphere erupts in cheers and laughter.
Back during the election, a supposedly-powerful ad by Hillary Clinton showed kids transfixed at the TV while clips of Trump played. Some of those clips involved Trump bragging that he’d beat up people who insulted him or him using vulgar language. And at the end of the ad was a standard message of how Clinton is so much better than Trump’s rhetoric (though, she has since abandoned all of that, claiming women are too powerless to vote for her because the men in their life are Republicans or something). This ad was cheered on and used by the Left to show, sanctimoniously, how they’re so much better than the Right.
Now, Biden, for the second time, has threatened to physically beat up Trump and it’s being greeted by many, including the press, with lightheartedness. Indeed, apparently that fight would be “lit” according to Mediaite citing Twitter’s reaction.
So, Trump is violent and an example of the kind of “toxic masculinity” Progressive activists are so alarmed by. But Biden, somehow, escapes that kind of criticism because it’s not so much about the concept of violence or toxic masculinity that concerns the Left; it’s the person who delivers it. If it’s their guy, it’s OK. Got it.
How about this: we treat both sides equally and if Trump doesn’t get a pass, neither should Biden. If Biden gets a pass, then so should Trump. Consistency is hard for some, I suppose. But maybe that’s why most people can’t stand either party?
