Injury crash on I-5 at Federal Way spills glue

Washington State Transportation Department workers spray-washed I-5 lanes early Thursday in Federal Way hours after a truck spilled glue resin in an injury crash.
The Washington State Patrol says a semi-truck hit a disabled minivan around 7 p.m. Wednesday near the Highway 18 interchange.
A 55-year-old woman driving the minivan was taken to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.
The 61-year-old truck driver was not hurt.
The truck spilled about 20,000 gallons of resin that closed all northbound lanes of I-5 until about 6 a.m. as workers removed the sticky mess.
One lane remained close through much of the rest of the morning commute.
KIRO Radio traffic reporter Kimi Kline said that while the area might experience heavy congestion, slowing from the SR 18 on-ramp was the biggest problem.
Drivers were encouraged to avoid the area all together during the morning commute hours.
