Shots fired in Kent home invasion

Oct 2, 2014, 8:53 AM | Updated: Sep 30, 2024, 11:10 am

The King County sheriff’s office says at least four masked men forced their way into a home near Kent Thursday morning shouting that they were police.

The sheriff’s office says at least two shots were fired inside the home in the 4000 block of 272nd Street. No one was hit. Two people in the house were assaulted, but not seriously injured.

The intruders got away with a small amount of money and some electronics. The house contained a small marijuana grow, intended for personal use, but police say it was not a factor in the robbery.

Sgt. DB Gates says an initial report they were wearing FBI shirts was incorrect.

A K-9 unit was used to search the area, but no one was found. The suspects may have taken off in a vehicle, according to investigators.

Police believe the home was targeted, but they would not say why.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
