Washington bus driver attacked in confrontation

A transit bus driver in Olympia, Wash., was beaten by a passenger after the driver told the passenger to leave the bus because the man was reportedly swearing and harassing other riders.
KOMO-TV reports the Tuesday afternoon violence aboard an Intercity Transit bus was captured on the bus’s surveillance video.
After verbally warning the passenger to tone down his language, the bus driver stopped the bus and walked back to tell the man to leave. In the video, the driver finally appears to try to shove the man out. That’s when the man started hitting the driver. One passenger tried to pull the man off.
When the man eventually left the bus, passengers and the driver called 911.
Olympia police say they arrested a man at the downtown transit station for investigation of third-degree assault.
KOMO says the driver was treated at a hospital and released.
