Two men, armed with a rifle and a pistol, were arrested on Saturday after harassing a food service worker in Capitol Hill.

At approximately 4 a.m., Seattle Police Department (SPD) officers responded to reports of armed men inside a fast-food restaurant in the 1200 block of E. Pike Street, SPD announced.

At the scene, officers detained two suspects, ages 21 and 28, for weapons violations and seized their guns.

Dissatisfied customers returned with weapons, became ‘hostile’

SPD determined that the suspects had previously ordered food, although they were not satisfied with their order.

After they left the area for a while, they then returned and began to argue with one of the employees.

“The conversation became ‘hostile,’ and the suspects became more and more aggressive and began yelling,” according to the police report.

After the employee saw the two men with weapons, the worker pressed a duress alarm and alerted the police.

The 21-year-old suspect was armed with a short-barreled rifle and a 30-round magazine, and appeared to be intoxicated. He also had a $5,000 DUI warrant for his arrest.

The pistol belonged to the 28-year-old suspect, which turned out to be a stolen gun from Tacoma.

SPD arrested both suspects for harassment and several weapons offenses. Officers booked the men into the King County Jail.
