The Bainbridge High School principal is on leave following a recent DUI arrest.

Bainbridge Island School District told KIRO 7 Kristina Rodgers was arrested on Jan. 12 by the Poulsbo Police Department.

The district told families that Rodgers was arrested on allegations of driving under the influence, reckless endangerment, and driving with a suspended license.

“Out of care and concern for the Rodgers family, we ask for your patience and respect for privacy at this time while we work to gather additional information regarding this situation,” the district wrote in an email to families obtained by KIRO 7.

According to police records, two breath samples showed her blood alcohol level ranging from 0.067 to 0.073. The legal limit is 0.08 in Washington.

Police records show that Rodgers denied drinking alcohol and refused to perform standardized field sobriety tests, KIRO 7 reported.

Records show her license was suspended or revoked at the time of the stop.

“According to police records, a Poulsbo police officer stopped Rodgers at about 9:48 p.m. after radar showed her vehicle traveling 53 mph in a posted 35-mph zone near the intersection of Noll Road Northeast and Northeast Kevos Pond Drive,” KIRO 7 reported.

While being transported to jail, Rodgers reportedly experienced a panic attack.

Police documents show Poulsbo Fire Department personnel responded and determined she did not need medical transport, and according to KIRO 7, she was booked into jail without incident.
