18-year-old woman seriously injured after North Beacon Hill shooting

An early Sunday morning shooting in North Beacon Hill that left an 18-year-old woman seriously injured is currently under investigation.
At approximately 5:58 a.m., Seattle Police Department (SPD) officers responded to reports of a shooting near the 1700 block of S. State Street, SPD announced.
At the scene, officers located evidence of gunfire. Soon after, an 18-year-old female victim arrived at Harborview Medical Center with a gunshot wound to her leg.

Altercation at a Beacon Hill gathering led to shooting, SPD says
The investigation found that several young adults were attending a gathering at a residence in North Beacon Hill when an unidentified male arrived in a vehicle.
The suspect was involved in an altercation outside with the victim shortly before the shooting. The suspect then fled the area in an unknown direction before officers could arrive.
Two bystanders helped the victim into a car and drove her to Harborview Medical Center, where she remains in stable but serious condition.
SPD noted that the gunfire struck at least two vehicles in the immediate shooting area.
SPD’s Gun Violence Reduction Unit detectives will lead the investigation and work to determine the events leading up to the shooting.
