Bellingham Police are looking for a suspect wanted on warrants for domestic violence-related malicious mischief/harassment as well as second-degree theft and failing to obey an officer. He also appeared to be impaired and suspected of DUI, according to Bellingham Police.

The officer tried stopping the suspect in the 4200 block of Meridian, but 37-year-old Marco Salinas quickly backed up and slammed into a wall. Officers said he hit the gas and rammed the occupied police SUV head-on, damaging it.

As he took off, police said Salinas rammed a second occupied police SUV head-on, damaging it, but both officers were uninjured.

As he fled, offices claimed Salinas ran multiple red lights and swerved intentionally into the path of another patrol SUV. The officer was able to maneuver out of the way, avoiding the collision.

As Salinas jumped on the freeway during the pursuit, he intentionally swerved to try and hit a fourth patrol officer on the shoulder. This officer was also able to move out of the way to avoid being struck.

Salinas continued to disobey the flashing emergency lights and fleed from officers by driving recklessly through parking lots, alleys, and roadways.

Officers said, at one point, he swerved toward pedestrians as if to strike them and continued fleeing toward downtown.

At this point, the officers discontinued the pursuit, turned off their lights, and pulled over. Salinas fled in his motorhome.

If you see Salinas, call 911 immediately, as he has shown to be a danger to the community.
