Suspect arrested in Covington after allegedly killing family member in shared home

The King County Sheriff’s Office arrested a suspect in connection with a recent homicide involving a family member of the suspect in Covington.
Deputies with the sheriff’s office discovered someone had died inside a home on 186th Place S.E. in Covington at approximately 7 a.m. on May 1. Another person was found injured inside.
The suspect the King County Sheriff’s Office identified is Kyle Cathcart, 41. The department had probable cause to arrest him in connection with the death of a family member at their shared home. Police searched for Cathcart in the Timberline area before locating and arresting him.
According to KIRO 7, neighbors said a husband and father of three was covered in blood and taken away in an ambulance. Three children, who were not hurt, were additionally removed from the home and taken to a neighbor’s house.
“The [family] has always been very kind, fun,” Smith, a neighbor, told KIRO 7. “They’re always outside and involved. Kids are always out playing.”
