Black SUV struck by gunfire in drive-by shooting on I-5

The Washington State Patrol (WSP) is looking for witnesses after a drive-by shooting on I-5 in Seattle early Tuesday morning.
WSP Trooper Rick Johnson said a black Mercedes SUV was hit by gunfire around 2:50 a.m. on southbound I-5 near the Seattle Convention Center.
“They heard a loud noise and felt an impact,” WSP Trooper Rick Johnson said. “(The driver) discovered that their vehicle had been struck by gunfire.”
A bullet struck the SUV’s right rear door, Johnson said.
The driver was not hurt in the I-5 shooting and did not see any other vehicles from which the shot may have been fired. Now, WSP investigators want to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the drive-by shooting.
“Maybe someone saw something, didn’t think it meant anything, like maybe a car speeding through that area or something like that,” Johnson said. “We’re just looking for anything. We’ll take any kind of information and do what we can to follow up on it.”
