A Metro bus drove off the road and crashed into a Sephora beauty products store in Seattle’s Westlake neighborhood after a driver collided with the bus.
The crash happened just before 11:30 p.m. Tuesday in downtown Seattle’s busy shopping district. According to the Seattle Police Department (SPD), officers claimed they saw a person in a Chevrolet Camaro driving recklessly. The Camaro was driving along 5th Avenue, while the bus was heading west on Pine Street.
The Camaro then slammed into the bus at the intersection of 5th Avenue and Pine Street. The accident happened across from the Westlake Center shopping mall.
The bus crushed a Lime scooter and a light post on a sidewalk before colliding with the Sephora storefront. The Camaro suffered “massive” front-end damage, according to SPD.
The bus driver was taken to Harborview Medical Center with minor injuries. A passenger also suffered minor injuries, but declined a trip to the hospital. No other injuries were reported.
The driver of the Camaro fled the scene on foot and has yet to be found, according to SPD.
