DUI arrest after wrong-way driver causes fiery crash on I-405 in Renton

A female driver was arrested for DUI after traveling the wrong way on I-405, resulting in a fiery crash in Renton.
Overnight Tuesday, the driver, a 24-year-old woman, was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of I-405, just north of SR 167, when she crashed into a sign, causing the car to burst into flames.
“It could have been a lot worse, obviously,” Washington State Patrol (WSP) Trooper Rick Johnson told KIRO 7. “Thankfully, not a lot of traffic coming the other way – ended up hitting a WSDOT sign near a construction zone.”
The road was shut down as fire crews arrived and quickly put out the fire. A video of the crash can be seen here.
