4 officers hospitalized after stolen semi-truck rams patrol cars during pursuit through Everett

Four Everett police officers were hospitalized Thursday morning after a man driving a stolen semi-truck rammed into several patrol cars as he attempted to elude law enforcement.

At approximately 6:21 a.m., an employee called the Everett Police Department (EPD) to report that a semi-truck was stolen from a Safeway parking lot at 1715 Broadway Avenue, EPD announced.

Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) deputies located the stolen truck shortly after the call and saw the truck enter southbound I-5.

Driver struck an Everett officer’s patrol car while the officer was on a separate call

As deputies attempted to stop the semi-truck near Silver Lake Road and 116th Place SE, the driver began to ram patrol cars and attempt to evade deputies.

An EPD officer was in the area on a separate call when his vehicle was struck by the semi-truck as he was sitting inside his patrol car.

Several EPD officers responded to assist as the stolen semi-truck continued evading officers and deputies while hitting patrol cars.

The truck ultimately came to a stop underneath a tree in the 1100 block of A. Sater Road, where the suspect was taken into custody.

Four EPD officers were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

EPD noted that the investigation remains active and that there are no further details to be released at this time, but will be released when available.
