A 36-year-old man attempted to take the bus to the hospital after being stabbed in Everett on Monday.
The victim boarded the bus to the Northgate transit center and spoke with a security guard at the platform. The man told the security guard he had been stabbed in the abdomen and was trying to get to Harborview Medical Center.
“Security contacted the man on the platform, and he alerted them that he was stabbed in the abdomen, and he was attempting to get himself to Harborview Medical Center for treatment,” Seattle Police Department Detective Eric Munoz told KIRO Newsradio.
Police and Seattle Fire Department personnel arrived at approximately 5 a.m. The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center in an ambulance in stable condition.
“May have been a case where he was trying to get out of that area, or he was just more familiar with the Seattle area. Perhaps he was familiar with Harborview Medical Center,” Munoz said.
The Everett Police Department has taken the lead on the ongoing investigation.
