Federal Way Police arrest father after 5-year-old daughter dies from suspected abuse

A 29-year-old man in Federal Way was arrested after his 5-year-old daughter died from an alleged assault.
Officers with the Federal Way Police Department were called to Glen Park Apartments in Federal Way on S.W. Campus Drive at approximately 1 p.m. on May 29. The reason for their call was to respond to a report of a 5-year-old who was in “medical distress.”
When officers arrived, they began first aid efforts to save her life before taking her to Harborview Medical Center. Police officers stated they saw signs of assault when evaluating the child’s injuries. She later died from her injuries at the hospital.
Her father was taken into custody and booked into King County Jail for murder after he was interviewed by detectives.
