Pierce County deputies are warning of a “dangerous” social media door kick challenge after a home was damaged in Gig Harbor.

Around 3:30 a.m. Saturday, a man came to the door of a home in Gig Harbor on 43rd Avenue Northwest and kicked it several times, according to a Facebook post from the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO).

The man broke the door frame and then ran off with two other suspects, PCSO stated.

“This may be fun and games, but sadly, people have died from doing this TikTok challenge,” PCSO wrote.

The homeowner said he is facing a $1,500 to $2,000 bill to replace his front door.

“I don’t care if you’re pranking or not — people die from pranks,” the homeowner told deputies in a bodycam video.

Law enforcement is asking anyone who recognizes the suspect to come forward, and said to pay attention to tattoos.
