Gut-shot 24-year-old walks into Harborview after Alki Beach ambush

A 24-year-old man walked into Harborview Medical Center early Saturday morning after being shot in the gut.

The Seattle Police Blotter reported that the man was immediately sent into surgery and remains in serious but stable condition. Doctors say he is still unable to speak, so police have not been able to interview him.

According to law enforcement, the man had been drinking at a gathering with two others near Alki Avenue Southwest and 57th Avenue Southwest when he was shot. After authorities traced the silver Dodge that had taken him to the hospital and conducted a traffic stop, the two men, ages 22 and 24, told police they did not know the shooter.

The suspected shooter reportedly fled the scene in a white car before officers arrived. No arrests have been made.

Detectives from the Gun Violence Reduction Unit are leading the investigation.
