Hit-and-run driver crashes into King County Metro bus in Burien, four injured

A King County Metro bus was involved in a crash just after 2 a.m. Monday near Ambaum Boulevard S.W. and S.W. 126th Street in Burien, the King County Sheriff’s Office confirmed.
The bus, a RapidRide H line, was traveling northbound on Ambaum Boulevard when a car crossed into the intersection and collided with the bus.
“The bus struck the second vehicle on its front right corner,” King County Metro stated. “The driver of the second vehicle lost control, spun, and struck the bus, forcing the bus off the road to its right and into a tree at the location.”
The driver fled the scene, leaving the car behind. When deputies with the King County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene, they located and arrested the driver.
Three passengers and the bus driver were taken to Harborview Medical Center, but their injuries are unknown as of this reporting. Additionally, the bus suffered significant damage.
“Please check in with Metro for any updates on bus routes,” the King County Sheriff’s Office stated.
It is unclear whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash, as of this reporting. The King County Sheriff’s Office is investigating this incident.
