Man shot and killed in Tacoma’s east side early New Year’s Day

A fatal shooting occurred in Tacoma in the early hours of New Year’s Day, the Tacoma Police Department confirmed.
Officers were called to the scene of the shooting, near the 3500 block of E. Grandview Avenue, at 3:39 a.m. Jan. 1. When they arrived, they found an adult man with gunshot wounds. Despite providing the victim with lifesaving efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene by fire personnel.
“Detectives and crime scene technicians are actively investigating this incident as a homicide,” the Tacoma Police Department stated. “Anyone with information related to this case is asked to call 911.”
